Elenas Finger glitten weiter zu seinem anderen Arm, als sie merkte, dass es nur Wunschdenken von ihr war, dass er die Augen öffnete, und ihr freudestrahlend kundtat, dass er etwas gefühlt hatte. Sie sollte weniger Kitschfilme ansehen.

Nachdem ein wenig Zeit vergangen war, richtete Elena sich auf. "Ich bin gleich zurück", versprach sie und ging nach draußen, wo sie sich den Mundschutz abnahm und tief durchatmete. Stundenlang in dieses Kunststoff-Papier-Gemisch zu atmen, trocknete ihre Kehle aus, sie brauchte ein paar Minuten Frischluft, wenn man die Luft im Krankenhausgang als solche bezeichnen konnte.
