Maggie wurde nach ein paar Tagen auf die Intensivstation verlegt.
Fünf Tage darauf entließ man Jack und Liz war für noch eine weitere Woche ganz allein; sie konnte weder mit dem Mädchen reden, noch ihren Freund regelmäßig sehen, da dies zu umständlich und anstrengend für ihn gewesen wäre.
Dank der neuen Medikamente und ihren regelmäßigen Atemübungen, ging es Liz jedoch langsam immer besser. Auch ihr Arm heilte gut ab; sie trug nur noch einen Stützverband, diesmal mit der erneuten ausdrücklichen Warnung, sie solle den Arm noch nicht voll belasten.
So wurde auch sie schließlich entlassen.

Liz packte ihre Tasche, sie war so froh, endlich aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen zu werden, sie konnte es gar nicht in Worte fassen.

"Du wolltest doch nicht etwa ganz heimlich hier abhauen und mit dem Taxi fahren, oder?", fragte er sie gespielt tadelnd, da er nur von Jack erfahren hatte, dass Liz das Krankenhaus verlassen durfte.
