Chase suchte sich schließlich einen freien Computer und ließ sich Amys Bilder zuschicken, damit er etwas zu tun hatte, während sie operiert wurde.
Nachdem er sie geöffnet und kurz durchgesehen hatte, überprüfte er nochmals die Datei und den Patientennamen, ehe er von vorn begann und sich ein Bild nach dem anderen erneut ansah, immer wieder.
Schließlich griff er zum Telefon und rief einen Kollegen an.

Nach ungefähr einer Stunde ging Chase in Richtung Aufwachraum und setzte sich dort auf einen Stuhl, um das OP-Ende nicht zu verpassen.

Chase erkundigte sich kurz nach dem Verlauf der OP und zog sich dann einen Hocker an Amys Bett, auf dem er Platz nahm und hielt ihre Hand fest.
Den Blick auf ihre geschlossenen Augen gerichtet, biss er sich auf die Unterlippe und schluckte krampfhaft.

Chase streichelte sanft ihre Hand und nahm seinen Blick nicht von ihrem Gesicht, auch wenn er vorerst nichts sagte, um sie erstmal wach werden zu lassen. Beim Blick in ihre blauen Augen schlichen sich jedoch Tränen in seine eigenen, die er nur mit aller Anstrengung zurückhalten konnte.
