Es war gut, dass Chase gerade da war. Amys Bein war völlig steif und natürlich schmerzhaft, so konnten er und die Therapeutin das Bein langsam aus der Schiene heben, während die Schwester die Orthese anbrachte und es genauso vorsichtig wieder ablegen, nachdem sie die Bewegungsschiene ins Bett gestellt hatte.
Die Therapeutin fixierte anschließend ihr Bein mit den Gurten.
"Die Schiene wird Ihr Bein nun für eine Stunde langsam bewegen. Nach jeweils einer viertel Stunde ist eine kurze Pause. Wenn die Schmerzen zu schlimm werden sollten, oder Sie ein anderes Problem haben, dann läuten Sie bitte sofort", bat sie sie und stellte die Schiene dann mit dem kleinsten Winkel ein und schaltete sie ein.
Chase blickte darauf, die Bewegung war wirklich minimal, aber er wusste, wie schlimm es war; er hatte mit einer solchen Schiene seine Bein mobilisiert bekommen, nachdem es gebrochen war.
