Er fragte sich, warum nahezu jedes Gespräch mit Kathleen in einem Streit endete. Immer wieder sagte sie ihm, dass es ihr mit ihm zu anstrengend war. Er konnte ihr anscheinend nichts recht machen. Doch sie hatte ihm auch schon oft genug gesagt, was sie für ihn empfand und er fragte sich, wie das zusammen passen konnte.
