Amy sah dem Auto nach und schloss dann die Tür. Sie lehnte sich im Flur an die Wand und atmete tief durch. Sie hatte die Schmerzen in ihrem Bein ignoriert. Doch viel schlimmer war natürlich noch die Sorge um Liz.

"Kathleen... Sie stirbt doch nicht?", kam es leise von Jack, als sie auf dem Parkplatz anhielten und Kathleen ihm in den Rollstuhl zurück helfen wollte.
Sie sah ihm in die Augen. "Ich hoffe nicht", sagte sie dann nur kurz, da sie es einfach auch nicht wusste.
Liz wurde inzwischen in der Notaufnahme behandelt und bekam bereits die Zugänge gelegt, sodass sie ihr Medikamente geben konnten.
"Elizabeth, hören Sie mich?", fragte der zuständige Arzt und leuchtete ihr mit einer Lampe in die Augen.

So machten sie die Erstversorgung und gaben Liz Schmerz- und Beruhigungsmittel, ehe sie mit Monitor und hoch dosierter Sauerstoffgabe auf Station gebracht wurde.
