Kathleen genoss seine Nähe. Die Tatsache, dass er trotz der Anspannung schlafen konnte, zeigte ihr, dass er zum einen sehr erschöpft sein musste und zum anderen wohl doch nicht so abgeneigt war, dass sie neben ihm lag.
