Nach dem Duschen rasierte er sich und zog sich frisch an, ehe er in die Küche ging und vor dem Kühlschrank stand. Sollte er damit aufhören? Sie machte sich über ihn lustig, weil er ihnen nur noch Essen machte. Er fand es nur gerecht. Sie ging arbeiten und er erledigte den Rest. Doch er selbst kam sich dabei schon armseelig genug vor. Es war das einzige, was er noch tun konnte und dachte, ihr damit irgendwie zu helfen. Putzen, kochen und sich um Jack kümmern. Doch jetzt machte sie sich wirklich noch darüber lustig. Es schmerzte ihn zu tiefst.

Kaminski stand immer noch an dem Fenster. Er schaffte es einfach nicht mehr, seine Gedanken zu ordnen. Er kannte so eine Situation nicht. Stets hatte er in seinem bisherigen Leben gewusst, was zu tun war.
