Er sah wieder von ihr ab und starrte eine Weile ausdruckslos aus dem Fenster. "Isobel, ich... werd nicht mehr lange hier sein. Ich kann es mir nicht mehr leisten, die Eigenbeiträge sind zu hoch. Meine Eltern haben mir zwar einiges vererbt, was ich ursprünglich in Reisen anlegen wollte, aber ich bin schon zu lange hier."

"Keine Ahnung", gab er zu. Er wusste, dass die Behandlung nirgendwo so gut war wie hier und dass sein Gesundheitszustand sich weiter verschlechtern würde, wenn er diese Therapien nicht mehr hatte. "Irgendein billiges Pflegeheim wird schon noch einen Platz für mich frei haben", meinte er dann.
