"Seit sie geboren ist!", gab er zurück und pausierte dann, da er das Thema wechseln wollte:"Können Sie mir sagen, wo ich hier einen Kaffeeautomat finde? Sie braucht etwas Zeit für sich und wenn ich jetzt keinen Kaffee trinke, nutzt sie später die gleiche Aussage wieder!"

Noch verwirrter sah sie ihn erneut an. "Sie ist gar nicht Ihre Frau?", fragte sie, nachdem sie eine Weile darüber nachgedacht hatte und nickte dann über ihre Schulter, um ihm zu bedeuten, dass sie ihn hinführen würde.

Schweigend führte sie ihn nun zu dem Automat. "Ich würde Ihnen einen Latte empfehlen, alles andere ist nur schwer genießbar", meinte sie und musterte ihn noch kurz wortlos. "Es tut mir leid, dass es Mary so schlecht geht und ich weiß nicht, wie Sie sich fühlen. Aber wir tun hier alles, damit sie sich wohl fühlt, also könnten Sie Ihre aus dem Herzschmerz resultierende schlechte Laune vielleicht nicht am Personal auslassen", kam es dann von ihr, ehe sie die wenigen Meter zurück auf Station ging.
