Kathleen dachte noch eine Weile über die Worte von Ryan nach. Vielleicht konnte sie Amys Arzt bitten, mal mit ihm zu reden und ihm alles zu erklären.
Schließlich war die OP endlich vorbei und Amy wurde durch das Krankenhaus zurück zu ihrem Zimmer geschoben. Die Beruhigungstablette, die sie vor der OP erhalten hatte, hatte längst ihre Wirkung verloren, sodass sie diesmal wach war.

Zunächst bedankte sie sich, dass er ihre Schwester erneut operiert hatte, dann berichtete sie von einem Freund, der sich für die OP interessierte und sich etwas damit auskannte, da er bei der Orthopädietechnik arbeitete und fragte, ob er sich mit ihm kurz unterhalten könnte.
