Um Ryan nicht zu beunruhigen, legte Kathleen sich wirklich eine Weile hin. Schlafen konnte sie nicht, doch immerhin fühlte sie sich trotzdem ausgeruhter, als sie zwei Stunden später wieder auf die ITS zurückkehrte.

Kathleen legte sanft ihre Hand um seine, als er langsam wach war. Sie war froh, seinen Arm in der Gipsschiene zu sehen. Seine vorherigen Ausführungen hatten geklungen, als wäre es nicht unmöglich, dass der Arm abgenommen werden musste, um die Sepsis einzudämmen.
