Sie sah ihm noch eine Weile nach und sah dann auf die Uhr. Die Schwester würde bald ihre Runde machen, dann würde sie um eine Tablette bitten. So lange hielt sie es noch aus. Sie wollte nicht zu oft läuten und die Schwestern nerven. Es gab hier sicher viele Patienten, die viel schlechter dran waren, als sie.

Es hatte sich herumgesprochen, dass Isobel Krankenschwester war; somit hatte sie es sicher auch schon oft erlebt, dass Patienten sich bei ihr entschuldigten, weil sie sie geweckt hatten.
Schließlich wusch sie Isobels Gesicht, Hals und Arme sowie die Beine ein wenig ab, ohne sie weiter zu bewegen. Als später eine zweite Pflegekraft dazukam, wechselten sie gemeinsam das Inkontinenzmaterial.
