So nahm Kathleen an, dass es bisher keine Besserung gab und schwieg nun einfach.
Nachdem Ryan sich in den Folgetagen immer mehr erholte, erfolgte die nächste Operation fünf Tage darauf.
Die nächsten beiden Tage war er deshalb wieder etwas schlechter drauf, doch Kathleen bemühte sich um ihn und auch Ava und die Kinder wichen nach wie vor nicht aus dem Krankenhaus ab, einerseits, da sie nicht wussten, wo sie hin sollten, andererseits, weil sie Ryan jetzt nie verlassen würden.
Bei Amy wurde an diesem Tag zur Visite die Entlassung für den darauffolgenden Tag beschlossen.

Die Verletzungen, Operationen und Schmerzen hatten Ryan seine Kraft geraubt. Trotzdem wollte er so schnell wie möglich aus dem Bett, aber vorallem zunächst auf Normalstation.
Amy wusste nicht so recht, ob sie sich freuen sollte, dass sie nach Hause durfte. Sie war immer noch böse auf ihre Schwester, Robert hatte derzeit fast nur stressige Dienst und sie kam einfach nicht darüber hinweg, dass an der Amputation mehr oder weniger ihr Exfreund Schuld war.

"Du musst was essen", bat Kathleen Ryan nach der Visite an diesem Morgen. Sie hatte das Gefühl, dass er in den wenigen Tagen bereits einiges an Gewicht verloren hatte.
