Es dauerte nur ein paar Augenblicke, dann war sie wieder eingeschlafen.
Nach ein paar Stunden wurde sie wieder wach und öffnete ihre Augen. Ihr Kopf war stark nach hinten überstreckt, das Atmen fiel ihr schwer.

Chase war ebenfalls rasch wieder eingeschlafen. Es war schön, wieder bei seiner Frau zu sein, so störten ihn die Schmerzen auch nur halb so sehr.

Ihr Kopf überstreckte sich immer mehr, was ihre Atmung immer oberflächlicher werden ließ. Sie verschluckte sich leicht an ihrem eigenen Speichel und begann zu husten.

Schon Remys erstes Husten ließ Chase den Kopf heben, kurz darauf beugte er sich über sie und beobachtete sie kurz, ehe er sie aufrichtete und gegen ihn lehnte. "Gut so, husten ist gut, weiter", spornte er sie an. Solange sie noch husten konnte, war die Gefahr einer Lungenentzündung zumindest leicht verringert. Dennoch wünschte er sich das Husten etwas kräftiger.
