Isobel ließ alles einfach über sich ergehen. Die Infusion mit den Schmerzmitteln trug ihr übriges dazu bei. Schon bald war der Rettungswagen am Krankenhaus angekommen, wo die Sanitäter direkt mit der Übergabe an die Kollegen von der Notaufnahme anfingen.

Chase blieb während der Übergabe bei ihr und wartete schließlich, während verschiedene Untersuchungen bei Isobel durchgeführt wurden, in der Notaufnahme. Er hoffte, der Arzt würde ihn anschließend über den Stand der Dinge aufklären.

Der Arzt schüttelte Chase die Hand:"Als ich die Adresse sah und hörte, dass du hier bist, hatte ich schon Angst, es ist wieder etwas mit Remy!", dann wurde er sofort ernst und bezog sich auf Isobel:"Wir müssen erneut operieren!", meinte er und hielt ihm die Röntgenbilder entgegen:"Willst du einen Blick darauf werfen?"

"Nein, ausnahmsweise nicht", entgegnete er schief lächelnd. Und nahm die Bilder entgegen. "Nochmal?", fragte er dann bestürzt und hielt die Aufnahmen gegen das Licht. "Ist das... hat sich der Fixateur gelöst?", fragte er dann, als er das Unglück vor Augen hatte. "Sieht nicht so aus, als ob die OP sich lange aufschieben ließe, das Metall komprimiert ihren Wirbelkanal und kann da sonstwas anrichten. Kein Wunder, dass sie solche Schmerzen hat. Ihr habt sicher schon mit der OP-Vorbereitung angefangen?!", fragte er dann. "Kann ich sie nochmal sehen, bevor ihr anfangt?"

Der junge Arzt drehte sich erneut um und blieb dann stehen um zu nicken. Diese Familie machte wirklich viel durch.
