Erneut klingelte Liz' Telefon. Diesmal versuchte Jack wieder sein Glück.

Als Liz dann auch noch sah, dass Jack anrief, konnte sie ihre Tränen nicht mehr zurück halten. Wieso verstand er nicht, dass es so das beste für ihn war?

Wenig später kam die Physiotherapeutin zurück und beendete die Behandlung. Da sie sah, wie es Liz ging, redete sie nur wenig mit ihr und ließ sie dann allein.

Liz drehte sich zur Seite und zog die Decke über sich. Sie vermisste Jack so sehr. Immer wieder sagte sie sich, dass die Trennung einfach das beste für alle Beteiligten war. Doch deshalb tat es nicht weniger weh. Sie versuchte sich einzureden, dass sie ein guter Mensch war, weil sie so sehr auf Jack achtete. Doch sie würde sterben, da kamen nun mal egoistische Gedanken auf.

Lawrence sah nach ihrem Dienstende bereits in Privatkleidung noch einmal nach ihr und fand sie völlig verweint in ihrem Bett vor.
