Isobel ging es glücklicherweise bereits am Mittag besser, am Nachmittag hatte sie kaum noch Schmerzen. So konnte sie House auch nach einer Weile umstimmen, der trotzdem zur Sicherheit ins Krankenhaus fahren wollte.
Doch auch dieser kleine Zwischenfall konnte nichts an Jacks Einstellung ändern. Er blieb in den nächsten Tagen meist in seinem Zimmer, um Diskussionen aus dem Weg zu gehen; außerdem wurde er immer schwächer und lag die meiste Zeit in seinem Bett. Selbst mit Isobel sprach er kaum noch.
Liz war nach ein paar Tagen aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen worden. Die Medikamente waren eingestellt worden und sie erhielt auch Rezepte für die folgende Krankengymnastik.
Zudem sollte sie zweimal wöchentlich zur Sauerstofftherapie kommen.
Ohne Liz ging es jedoch nicht nur Jack schlecht; Chase konnte den Haushalt, die Mädchen und seine kranke Frau kaum noch allein bewältigen. Zudem machten es ihm Anna und Lisa auch nicht gerade leicht, die ihm die Schuld gaben, dass Liz nicht mehr da war.

Aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen, sah sich Liz sofort wieder um Arbeit um. Sie hatte keine Ahnung, wie sie das alles sonst bezahlen sollte.
