Im Auto sah Isobel nur noch vor sich hin. Sie hatte so große Angst, wie bei den ersten Fahrten nach dem Unfall. Wenn jetzt etwas passierte, würde auch dem Kind etwas passieren.

Kurz bevor sie ankamen, glitt vor ihnen ein Auto aus einer Parklücke am Straßenrand, ohne darauf zu achten, dass sie gefahren kamen, sodass House etwas stärker bremsen musste. "Penner", murmelte er vor sich hin und dachte sich nichts weiter dabei.

Isobel krallte sich sofort mit einer Hand in den Sitz und mit der anderen in den Haltegriff an der Tür. Sie wurde kaltschweißig und die Tränen stiegen ihr in die Augen.
