Amy hatte ihre Augen geschlossen. Sie hatte Angst, vor dem Einsetzen der Symptome, die sie mittlerer Weile nur zu gut kannte. Am liebsten würde sie die Nadel jetzt einfach ziehen. Sie wollte diese Schmerzen nicht mehr haben, diese unwahrscheinlich unangenehme Kälte nicht mehr empfinden und sich der starken Übelkeit nicht mehr so hilflos stellen müssen.

Amy schwieg jetzt. Für sie war es furchtbar, dass er es nicht respektierte, dass sie ihn nicht dabei haben wollte, wenn es ihr so schlecht ging und sie sich nicht mal selbst helfen konnte. Die Krankheit hatte sie ohne Zweifel verändert, aber während der Chemo war sie nur noch ein Häufchen Elend.
"Vielleicht solltest du das Fenster zu machen. Sonst kommen noch mehr von denen rein!", kam es nach einer Weile nur von ihr, den Blick in eine Ecke des Zimmers gerichtet.
