Chase half ihr erneut auf. Er versuchte die Auflagefläche auf seinem Arm so groß wie möglich zu halten und ihr nicht seine Finger in die Haut zu bohren, während er sie hielt.

Nachdem sie sicher war, dass sie sich nicht mehr übergeben musste, atmete sie tief durch und musste sich, da sie einfach keine Kraft mehr hatte völlig in seinen Arm sinken lassen.

Chase ließ Amy jetzt nicht mehr los und zog ihr behutsam die Decke höher.

Amy musste sich kurze Zeit später wieder übergeben. Es war ihr nicht möglich, vorher noch irgendetwas diesbezüglich zu sagen, weshalb sie sich kraftlos einfach vor sich in das Bett übergeben musste.

Da Chase schnell reagierte, hielt er ihr nach dem ersten Schwall gleich die Schale hin. Er mochte gar nicht daran denken, wie viel Flüssigkeit sie so verlor und wie das innere ihrer Speiseröhre und ihrer Mundschleimhaut wohl aussehen mochte.

Amy wünschte sich, sie könnte im Erdboden versinken. Nicht nur, dass ihr Freund sie so sehen musste, jetzt hatte sie sich auch noch einfach hilflos in das Bett übergeben.

Chase ließ sie wieder hinlegen und drehte dann das Rädchen an der Infusion zu, als der Beutel leer war. Kurz ging er nach draußen und holte eine frische Decke, um auch gleich bescheid zu sagen, dass die Chemo beendet war.
Dem diensthabenden Arzt teilte er dann beunruhigt mit, dass Amy halluziniert hatte.
Schließlich legte er Amy die frische Decke auf, während der Schwester den Beutel von der Chemo entfernte und Amy eine Elektrolytlösung anhängte.
