Langsam ging Kathleen in Richtung Ausgang und auf den Parkplatz hinaus. Sie musste daran denken, wie es ihr gegangen war, als es Amy so schlecht ging. Sie konnte nachvollziehen, wie er sich fühlen musste.

Mary schlief aufgrund der Medikamente tief und fest.
Kathleen blieb eine Weile auf dem Parkplatz stehen, ehe sie umkehrte. Schlafen konnte sie auch in einem Bereitschaftsraum, sie hatte zu große Angst, dass Ryan in seinem Zustand ins Auto steigen und losfahren würde. Da man jedes Geräusch auf den Gängen hörte, würde sie sicher merken, wenn er vorbeikam.

Nachdem Ryan in einer Endlosschleife der Erinnerungen gefangen war, setzte er sich wieder auf und ging kurz darauf auf den Balkon, wo er sich eine Zigarette anzündete.

Ryan lehnte sich an das Geländer und hing weiter seinen Gedanken nach. Er dachte daran, wie seine Schwester früher immer zu ihm ins Bett geklettert war, wenn sie schlecht geträumt hatte, oder nicht schlafen konnte und wie er aus seinem Haus später wieder zu ihr gezogen war, als es ihm nicht gut ging.
