Er verdrängte die Schmerzen in seinem Arm, die durch die übermäßige Belastung entstanden waren, immer noch die meiste Zeit, Er konnte nur noch an Kathleen denken. Seit er krank geworden war, hatte er nicht mehr geraucht. Dieser Tag hatte ihm bisher bereits eine halbe Schachtel gekostet.
