Sie atmete tief durch und hielt die Augen geschlossen. Als sie hörte, dass sie die Eingangshalle erreicht hatten, öffnete sie sie wieder und sah auf die Uhr. "Ich muss erst zur Bestrahlung." Sie wollte gar nicht daran denken, doch sie wusste, dass sie sich, selbst wenn sie den Termin umlegten, dann wieder aufregen und damit alles zunichte machen würde, was Ryan ihr vielleicht Gutes getan hatte.

Da sie es so wollte, schob er sie zu den Räumlichkeiten und informierte dort das Personal. Als dieses sich um Kathleen kümmerte, machte er sich daran, alles für die möglicherweise folgende Behandlung vorzubereiten.

Es war wohl das erste Mal, dass sie froh war, sich auf die Liege legen zu können. Auch die Maske störte sie heute weniger, da sie sich mehr darauf konzentrieren musste, die Schmerzen wegzuatmen.
