Seine Atmung wurde bei ihren Worten, ohne das er es vermeiden konnte, gleich noch angestrengter. Das Mädchen hatte schon so vieles mit machen müssen. Auf der anderen Seite konnte er sich wirklich vorstellen, dass sie daheim nur unruhig gewesen wäre. Eben genau wegen ihrer Geschichte.

Als sie ihm versprach, für das Mädchen zu sorgen, nickte er zu ihr. Kathleen musste vorallem für sich selbst sorgen.
